Who the heck is Lesley?

Lesley is a middle-aged woman with 6 cats, a dog, and a life-long dedication to naps. She started painting in 2020, mostly out of boredom during COVID-19 lockdown, but she found something much more valuable than just another way to kill time. Painting rapidly became an important part of her life and a critical therapeutic tool to help manage her ADHD and depression.

What the heck is ‘brain static’?

That is how Lesley refers to times when her thoughts are especially distracting and intense. Painting is one of the only ways she has found that she can reliably click into a hyperfocus state and burn off some of that ‘static’, clearing her head.

How the heck do I buy a painting?

Check out my store to purchase prints as well as the original paintings!

Where the heck did you learn to paint?

Lesley is not trained in art. She got her undergraduate degree in Psychology and English, and she worked as a software developer for almost 20 years, which is about as far from creating art as you can get. Painting is just something her brain seems to know how to do. It frankly weirds her out a bit that she is able to do it without knowing how.
